Welcome to the Oxford War Collections:

A collection of community collection & academic collaboration projects ran by University of Oxford from 2008 to the present day that aim to preserve and commemorate the rich histories of the First and Second World Wars.

First World War Poetry Digital Archive (2008-2010):

An extensive collection of poetry manuscripts from 9 poets of the First World War and audio, film, and photographic material. The archive also includes the 'Great War Archive' community collection, and educational tutorials on the First World War.

WW1 Centenary

Project ran by University of Oxford, 2012-2014

A large archive of educational resources created by experts in the field of First World War studies, to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War in 2014.

Lest We Forget

2017-2018: A community collection that aimed to capture the stories and objects of the First World War. Working in conjunction with the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Lest We Forget team helped local communities organise and run their own Community Collection Days, where members of the public brought along war-related stories, memories, photographs, diaries, letters and other mementos to be digitised.
