Oxford at War 1914-1918 was a project to assemble material related to Oxford (University and City) during the period of the First World War. It ran during the centenary of the First World War 2014-2018. It is now no longer open to submissions. Oxford at War 1914-1918 was based at the University of Oxford. It was part of the Oxford World War I Centenary Programme with support from the van Houten Bequest.
This was a community collection bringing together stories, pictures and objects related to Oxford during the period of the First World War. Anyone with relevant material was welcome to upload and share it. The material in the collection was shared by members of the public, University departments, colleges, clubs and societies, and others. The information about the material was provided by the contributor who was responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information. The material is made available under different licences.
Permitted Use
The material on this site is shared under different licence conditions, as defined by the person or institution sharing the material. The licence conditions are given next to each contribution (under the heading 'Licence'). If no licence conditions are specified, the material is made available under a Creative Commons licence CC BY-NC-SA licence. That means that anyone can use the material for non-commercial purposes (i.e. not selling or reselling the material or using it for commercial gain). Anyone using the material must credit the person who contributed the material to the collection. Anything that is created using the material must be made available under the same licence.
